PRF InjectionsIn Jupiter, FL

PRF Overview

Explore PRF: A Personalized Cosmetic Treatment Option

PRF stands for platelet-rich fibrin, a form of blood plasma with a high concentration of platelets. Reconstituted blood plasma may include five to ten times more platelets than normal blood plasma. Platelets contain growth factors, cytokines, and proteins that are involved in normal tissue repair processes and perform the following functions:

  • Growth factors are involved in cell repair and regeneration and play a role in inflammation regulation.
  • Cytokines are signaling proteins involved in tissue repair processes.
  • Platelets can adhere to injured tissues, such as tendons and ligaments, to form a clot and support natural healing processes.

Tissue repair occurs over time following treatment. Your provider may recommend avoiding intense activity or exercise during the recovery period.

How are PRF injections used at CARE Esthetics?

Schedule your consultation to learn more about PRF injections and whether this treatment may be appropriate for your cosmetic goals. PRF injections for the face are part of a personalized treatment plan and may support the skin’s natural repair processes. PRF may also be incorporated alongside other aesthetic procedures, such as facial fillers, as determined appropriate by your provider. PRF Facial treatments include:

Microneedling with PRF (Vampire Facial)

Microneedling with PRF creates tiny channels in the skin, which may stimulate the body’s natural repair processes over time. The high concentration of growth factors in the platelet-rich fibrin may support natural tissue renewal. PRF treatment may support collagen production and can be included in a plan to address concerns such as dark spots, acne scars, wrinkles, or fine lines, depending on individual response.

PRF and Bio-Fillers

Facial fillers are often used in aesthetic medicine to provide volume and support for specific areas of your face, depending on individual treatment plans. Autologous plasma may be used as an alternative to traditional fillers, depending on the plan determined by your provider. Injections may support the appearance of smoother skin, depending on individual response. Natural gel fillers derived from plasma may last approximately three to six months. PRF injections may be incorporated into a treatment plan alongside fillers as determined appropriate by your provider.

What are PRF Injections?

A small blood sample is obtained and processed to separate the plasma concentrate platelets and growth factors. PRF may then be applied topically or injected into the skin as part of a personalized cosmetic or regenerative treatment plan, as determined by your provider. The concentrated plasma contains growth factors that may support natural tissue repair processes. Your provider will determine how PRF may be incorporated into your individualized treatment plan.

PRF Injections for Hair Loss

PRF therapy is being studied in hair restoration, and some research is exploring its potential role in hair health. Some studies are investigating whether PRF may influence hair characteristics such as density or thickness. Evidence is still emerging, and results may vary.

At CARE Esthetics, we offer PRF injections for hair as part of individualized treatment plans, under the guidance of our providers. Schedule an appointment to learn more about this emerging treatment option and whether it may be appropriate for you.

PRF Injections Recovery & Results

Following PRF injections, your body undergoes natural repair processes. Recovery experiences may vary by individual. It is possible to have slight bruising for up to three to ten days after the injection, though this is uncommon. Normally, you can resume most activities with some precautions, such as:

  • In facial esthetics, avoid using any cosmetics, lotions, or creams on the injected area for at least six hours.
  • Wait six hours before taking a shower to allow the treated area to settle.
  • Avoid alcohol and cigarettes for three days before and after your PRF injection.
  • Avoid heavy exertion, and direct sun exposure for three days following your treatment.
  • Drink plenty of water after your injections and throughout the following week.
